The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 directed the Small Business Administration (SBA) to create a Governmentwide certification program for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. Effective January 1, 2023, SBA assumed responsibility for certifying Veteran-Owned small firms. If you have questions, please contact SBA at vetcert@sba.gov. Regional Procurement Office West will conduct a Quarterly Business Opportunity Session Virtual Event to provide a high level forecast of potential procurement opportunities. The North American Industry Classification Code System (NAICS) associated with the forecasted procurement prospects will be available 60-days before the virtual event occurs. 

Topics covered may include the need-to-know Small Business Regulatory process to help entrepreneurs increase their procurement readiness and regulatory understanding.  Additionally, the host may briefly discuss the VA Rule of Two, The Vet First Program, Small Business Hierarchy of Preference, discovering opportunities in sub-contracting, the location of VA’s Forecast of Contracting Opportunities, Teaming, Joint Venture and Mentor Protégé.
